About DEF CON 570

Who we are
#

DEF CON 570 is the DEF CON Group for area code 570, northeastern Pennsylvania. We are a local, volunteer-run chapter of DEF CON Groups, meeting year-round.

The group has been meeting since 2022.

We meet on the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 PM at Rodano’s in Wilkes-Barre. See meetings for details.

What we do
#

  • Talks and demos on security, hardware, networking, reverse engineering, and adjacent subjects.
  • Hands-on sessions, including lock picking, soldering, radio, and capture-the-flag practice.
  • Project help. Members bring things they are stuck on.
  • Social. Meeting other people in the area who are into the same things.

Code of conduct

We follow the official DEF CON code of conduct.

Who it is for
#

Anyone curious, regardless of job title or experience. Students, hobbyists, sysadmins, developers, people considering a career change, and people who have been doing this for twenty years all show up.

We are explicitly not a place for illegal activity, and we do not condone it.
